Guest Book

The Project had a small website at the beginning of 2002, mainly to publicise the dates of public meetings. That website was discontinued in the autumn of 2002, but I preserved the guest book.

When I took over the website in September 2002, I created a new Guest Book, which visitors to this site can read, and add their own entries if desired.  There is no facility to add to the old book.

I have also provided a form which will send your comments directly to me without being visible to other visitors to this site

Each of the buttons below will use the second window if it exists, or create it if it is not yet present.

Read to read the entries in the current Visitor's Book.

Add Entry to add your own entry to the Visitor's Book.

Old Book to read the entries in the original Visitor's Book.

Mail to send the author of this website an e-mail message.

Unfortunately, it seems that if I display a real e-mail address on a website page, that address collects an enormous amount of rather unpleasant mail and several viruses. So I have set up a form, which hides the address it goes to. The drawback of a form is that you cannot attach anything. So if you have any scanned photographs from the time of the blitz that you think would be useful on this website, send me a message using the form and include an e-mail address that will reach you, and I will reply with an address that can be used for normal e-mail with attachments.

Memories Book

One of the aims of the Project is to preserve for posterity the memories of those who lived through the Bath Blitz.

If you were in Bath at the time of the blitz, or know the story told to you by a friend or relative who was, we would like to hear from you. You can use the "Add Memory" button below, which create a Visitor's Book style of entry, or you can use the "Mail" button to e-mail me your story, and if you give me permission, I will illustrate it with pictures if I can find any, and add it to the Memories section of this web site, or you can just use the "Mail" button to let me know you want to get in touch and I will give you a postal address to send it to. (It is not good practice to include postal addresses on a website: it seems to attract a lot of junk mail).

Visitors to this website can see some memories by using the Memories button at the top of the page and others by reading those that have been added to the Memories Book so far.

Each of the buttons below will use the second window if it exists, or create it if it is not yet present.

Read to read the entries in the current Memories Book.

Add Memory to add your own entry to the Memories Book.

Mail to send your memories to the author of this website in an e-mail message.

NOTE:  Some memories could take a long time to type, and if you are using an internet connection that charges you for the length of the call, there is a cheaper way than typing while on-line. If you are using a dial-up connection, you might find it easier to use NOTEPAD or a similar text editing utility to prepare your memory, before connecting to the internet. Once you are connected to the internet, you can then display the page where you can submit your memories, copy from NOTEPAD and paste into the Memories box (or Message box for e-mail). Then send the message using the button provided.

If you can't find where you want to go next using the navigation buttons at the top of this page, this button   Index   will take you to the page containing the complete site index.
